Cochise County Board of Supervisors chairwoman Ann English acknowledged right from the start that the impromptu celebration of Cochise County's 129th birthday Tuesday was due to county native Snoody Boroweic.
"It's thanks to the forward thinking of (Boroweic) that we're here today," said English. "We need to remind ourselves that we have a rich heritage and that we existed before the state. People from Cochise County helped form the state of Arizona."
So, Tuesday morning, elected officials, staff and residents gathered in the commons of the supervisors building to reflect on the county's history and the impact early pioneers had in the state's development. |
